According to TSC’s new recruitment guidelines, qualified teachers with internship experience have a better chance of getting TSC jobs.

The quality of one’s certificate is another factor that will increase one’s chances of getting hired.

Tutors teaching subject combinations such as Physics/Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture, and Chemistry/Biology, on the other hand, are easily absorbed by TSC due to their scarcity.

Applicants must submit originals or legible photocopies of the following documents:

National identification cards;

National Council of Persons with Disability (NCPWD) Card (where applicable);

KCPE Certificates;

KCSE Certificates (include first attempt certificate if repeated exams);

Diploma/Degree Certificates and official transcripts;

Primary and Secondary Schools leaving certificates

NB: Provisional transcript shall not be accepted.

Where names on the submitted documents differ, the applicant will be required to submit a sworn affidavit.

Qualified candidates will be required to apply for the vacancies online and wait for their names to be shortlisted. Following the shortlisting process, the commission will invite candidates for interviews.

Teachers Service Commissions and Boards of Management are responsible for conducting the selection process for advertised vacancies in their institutions.

As required by the Public Officers Ethics Act and the TSC Code of Conduct and Ethics 2015, the Selection Panel will be held to the highest standards of transparency and accountability.

Before the selection process can begin, the Head of Institution must educate the panel members on the relevant sections of the Act and CORT 2015.

It is important to note that teachers who participate in the internship program will receive an extra thirty (30) points. This automatically gives them an advantage.

Awarding of marks for Length of stay since qualifying as a teacher (since graduation)

It is also worth noting that the marks for length of stay after graduation have been significantly reduced.

GUIDELINES FOR REPLACEMENT OF TEACHERS POST PRIMARY INSTITUTIONS

Awarding of marks for Length of stay since qualifying as a teacher for those previously employed by TSC

NB:For purposes of scoring part B, year of completion of professional training (BED or PGDE) whose certificate is used to score part A of this score sheet
determines the length of stay but not year of enhancement.

Advantage of Communication ability and Co-curricular certificate of participation

One who has a co-curricular participation certificate will also have a better chance of scoring higher marks. When it comes to severing ties, this is a critical step.

It is important to note that having a strong command of the English language and a convincing confidence level will put you in a good position to land a job with TSC.

Finally, ensure that you have excellent content mastery in your teaching subjects.

The TSC County Director MUST ensure that the recruitment process is carried out in strict accordance with the Ministry of Health’s protocols for COVID- 19 pandemic containment.

According to Section 23 (1) of the Teachers Service Commission Act of 2012, all applicants must be registered teachers. Applicants who are not registered are ineligible for recruitment.

Applicants requesting KNEC confirmation of results should include the address of the County Director where they submitted their applications.

Applicants whose names differ on their certificates and/or identity cards must provide a sworn affidavit explaining the name difference.

Applicants who retake either the KCPE or KCSE examinations (or their equivalents) MUST present certified copies of the national examination(s) in question for all attempts.
