The Kenya Medical Training College offers several certificate course for students interested in working in the field of medicine, but failed to attain the grade for a degree. Many people tend to have the idea that certificate courses are quite useless as they are not marketable. However, this is very wrong and misleading. There are various certificate courses that can land you a good job with a really nice pay. Here are some of these courses;

KMTC Certificate in Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine
This course equips you with the knowledge and skills to diagnose and treat conditions of a human’s musculoskeletal system. It is a two year course offered in several KMTC campuses in the country. The requirements for this course include;
KCSE Mean Grade of C-
D+ in Biology or Biological Sciences
C- in English or Kiswahili

KMTC Certificate in Health Records and IT

This is a 2 year course that equips you with the necessary skills to ensure the safety of patients’ records and keeping them updated. It requires the following for admission;
KCSE Mean Grade C-
C- in English or Kiswahili
D in Biology
D- in Mathematics
D+ in any other subject

KMTC Certificate in Medical Engineering

Medical Engineering is a 2 year program at certificate level that will secure a person a job in various hospitals in the country. One learns how to install and fix various hospital equipment. Here are the requirements;
KCSE Mean Grade C-
C- in English and Kiswahili
D plain in Mathematics
D plain in Physics and Chemistry

KMTC Certificate in Community Health Nursing.
The duration for this course is two and a half years. Its aim is to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge for you to take part in various health issues in the community. This course is very marketable as there are very few of these personnel in the country. Requirements for admission include;
KCSE Mean Grade of C-
C- in English and Kiswahili
C- in Biology
D+ in any other subject

KMTC Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics

A certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics enables you to work in different institutions and with various personal patients. It entails advising on the proper kinds of foods to take. Here are the requirements for the course;
KCSE Mean Grade D+
D+ in English or Kiswahili
D+ in Biology

KMTC Certificate in Nursing

This course requires the following achievements;
KCSE Mean Grade C-
C- in English or Kiswahili
C- in Biology
D+ in Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics

KMTC Certificate in Environmental Health sciences.
It is a course that trains you on how to identify on how to identify and analyze environments and hazardous agents. It requires;
KCSE Mean Grade of C-
C- in English or Kiswahili
D+ in Biology
D+ in Mathematics

KMTC Certificate in Psychiatric nursing

This course allows you to work in several psychiatric hospitals in the country. Requirements include;

KMTC Certificate in Community Health assistants
The minimum KMTC intake requirements for the course are;

KMTC Certificate in Health Promotion for the Deaf (CHPD)
CHPD is a two year program for deaf students. You need at least the following to qualify;
KCSE Mean Grade D+
D+ in English or Kenya sign language
D in Biology

Note that Pharmacy is not offered at certificate level, but one can study it at a diploma level.
