Today a tragic accident has happened in Mwingi town after a bus capsized in a river. The heavy rains made River Enziu to flood beyond brim which is dangerous to human life. Two top leaders Raila Odinga and deputy president William Ruto have sent their condolence messages to the families of the bereaved.

Raila’s message was, “my prayers and condolences go to the families of those we lost this afternoon when a bus carrying the Catholic Church Choir plunged into River Enziu.May God grant the affected fortitude, and may the souls of the departed Rest In Eternal Peace.”

William Ruto was not left behind he shared this through his Twitter account, “our thoughts are with the families, their loved ones and friends of those who have perished in the tragic accident in Kitui County. Sending our prayers and speedy recovery to the survivors.” He further added that motorists should be extra cautious when crossing such flooded areas.

According to the latest statistics released by various media stations is that more than 20 bodies have been recovered. At the same time around ten people were rescued alive from the scene. The eye witnesses revealed that the bus was ferrying members of a certain Catholic church. The mainly included the choir group which was from a function.

Currently there is a video circulating around social media platforms which was recorded by one of the people present. The video shows the bus completely being submerged in the water. While this is happening a few of the passengers were seen moving out through the windows.
