The road will be blocked by a notice dated Friday, September 30 for 12 hours on Saturday, October 1, and for a comparable period of time on Sunday, October 2.

On the mentioned days, the U-turn directly after the Carnivore gate and the Uhuru Gardens entrance will be closed from 5 am to 5 pm as contractors build a footbridge to improve pedestrian safety.

The government’s plan to improve countrywide transportation includes the building.

T-Mall Bridge along Langata Road, which had been under construction, was formally inaugurated on August 5 by KeNHA.

To help with traffic flow into and out of Nairobi CBD, a Spanish engineering firm called Centurion started building the T-Mall overpass in November 2020.

The Kenyan and Spanish governments entered into a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to carry out the project.

Lang’ata and Karen, the Wilson airport, army barracks, and Nairobi National Park are all connected by the T-Mall flyover.

Vehicles traveling to Ongata Rongai and Magadi were intended to utilize the raised route, while those traveling to Mbagathi Road, South C, and Wilson Airport were intended to use the lower road.

The Nairobi Expressway’s construction made it possible to solve urban mobility issues and cut down on travel time.

Along with the Nairobi Expressway, the Thika Road BRT project is only getting started. Even though the project was abandoned, it was claimed that it would reduce citywide traffic jams.
