Kenya is witnessing a spike in the cases of unrest in schools, with more than 60 learning institutions having been burnt down this term alone. A number of schools have been closed down after dormitories, classrooms and laboratories have been torched and in some instances, learners left nursing injuries.

Reports reaching us just now is that another. National Girls High School has been closed and students sent home after form 3 and 4 students allegedly refused to go to classroom after lunch break.

According to the source, Kaimosi Girls went on to destroy lot of properties in the school before storming out of the school. The school administration then held an emergency meeting where they resolved to close the school until further notice.

This just come barely two weeks remaining before they break for Christmas holiday as from 23rd December to 3rd January. Since the start of this week alone more than five schools have been closed following students unrest in the school.
